Requirements:
We require that our boarders be vaccinated against rabies, unless your cat is exclusively indoors and has been medically excused by a licensed veterinarian. The FVRCP vaccination is highly recommended but not required. Although the risk is not high, it is for the safety of your own feline family member that we ask you to consider vaccinating when in the same area as many other cats. We do not require the FELV vaccination for any of our boarders. We require that boarders 6 months of age or older be spayed or neutered before their stay. We also do not admit any cats that are carriers of airborne infectious diseases.
At check in, we inspect each cat for evidence of fleas to ensure the health of all cats staying at our facility. In the rare event that we discover signs of fleas, the cost of applying a topical dose of Advantage II and administering an oral dose of Capstar will be added to the invoice.
For our extensive care guests (e.g. diabetics, recent major illnesses/injuries, late stages of chronic kidney disease), we require that our veterinarians at Frederick Cat Vet see them as patients with in the year. This allows us to understand the best way to manage their needs while in our care as guest of the Cat's Pajamas.
We feel that following these rules will help to secure the safety of all of our guests. And thank you in advance for your understanding!
